Barkhad Abdi is a Somali-American actor and filmmaker. He made his debut as a Somali pirate in the biographical drama film Captian Phillips (2013). Barkhad has won a British Academy Film Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for that film. Later his name was shortlisted for Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

Eye in the Sky, Good Time, The Pirates of Somalia, and Blade Runner 2049 are some of his best movies. He also appeared in the Season 2 of the Hulu horror series Castle Rock. At the age of 6, when the Somali Civil War broke out Barkhad and his family were off to Yemen. Barkhad’s latest movie Agent Game will be released on 08 April 2022.
